To engineer premium stainless steel cookware that meets the highest standards of performance, energy efficiency, and durability for professional chefs and ambitious home cooks worldwide.
We began our journey in 1908 when Emmanuel Demeyere, a skilled plumber and zinc worker, moved to Antwerp, Belgium. Initially commissioned by the biscuit company DeBeukelaer to manufacture tin boxes, Emmanuel laid the foundation for what would become one of the world's most respected cookware manufacturers. His son Maurice Karel Demeyere established the family business in the Borgerhout district, and in 1919, along with his brother Willem, they expanded operations. The company was officially incorporated as nv Demeyere & Zonen in 1922, relocating to Deurne where production continued for 77 years.
Our evolution into stainless steel cookware came in 1946 when Maurits Emmanuel Demeyere, an engineer and inventor of our signature Silvinox surface treatment, recognized the opportunity in post-war kitchen design trends. As centralized kitchens became fashionable, we introduced our line of stainless steel cookware known for its hygiene and durability. In the 1970s, we pioneered induction cookware technology, developing proprietary systems like TriplInduc that remain industry-leading today.
Christophe Demeyere, the fourth generation to lead the brand, guided our transition into a new chapter when Zwilling J.A. Henckels acquired Demeyere in March 2008, coinciding with our 100th anniversary and the launch of a special cookware series designed by British architect John Pawson. Today, we continue manufacturing in Belgium, combining over a century of craftsmanship with continuous innovation.
At the core of Demeyere is TriplInduc technology with Silvinox surface treatment.
